A personal story of gratitude

Hello Reader,,

On the heels of the Gratitude Effect Summit 2025, (click the link to see the replay until January 31, 2025)

I want to share a deeply personal story about the transformative power of gratitude in my own healing journey.

✨ After my divorce, I was overwhelmed by pain and perceived injustices. It was a challenging period, filled with hurt, anger, disappointment, and self-reflection. In the midst of this turmoil, I began to consciously focus on the positive aspects of my dissolved marriage. I recalled the unwavering support my ex-husband provided as a father to our children, his dedication to maintaining our home with his handyman skills, and the joyous moments we shared during our years together. This shift in perspective allowed me to appreciate the good that existed alongside the challenges, hastening my journey to peace and acceptance—essential steps for my healing.

✨ Similarly, as I processed my relationship with my parents, gratitude helped me move past the narcissistic abuse and multifaceted toxic environment of my childhood. I came to recognize the complexities of our relationships and acknowledge my mother’s steadfast presence during tumultuous times. She was the anchor that kept me grounded when life was stormy, and her determination in raising me against all odds became a cornerstone of my own strength in my healing process.

✨ In every situation, God's miraculous provisions, material or otherwise grounded me in my faith with the knowledge that He will ALWAYS be there for me. For this I am eternally grateful.

Through these reflections, I discovered that gratitude doesn’t erase the past but transforms our relationship with it. It allows us to find strength in our experiences and fosters emotional fortitude.

This January, I invite you to join me in embracing gratitude as a pathway to healing. Here are some practices to consider:

Morning Reflections: Begin each day by acknowledging something you’re grateful for, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.

Gratitude Journaling: Dedicate time each evening to write about moments of gratitude, fostering a deeper connection with your experiences.

Expressing Appreciation: Share your gratitude with others, strengthening your relationships and spreading positivity.

Good News!

I’ve added a free gratitude lesson to our community classroom, where I delve deeper into these practices and share more insights from scientific research.
